Volunteer Opportunities
St. Mark’s offers many opportunities to volunteer! Click a graphic or link to find your special place among the following after this message from our Stewardship Committee:
Opportunities for service here at St. Mark’s!
Council: Have you served on St. Mark’s Council? If not, or if it’s been a while since you served, now’s the time!! Each year, we have three openings on our church council. This year, we have four opportunities to serve, replacing outgoing members, Bonnie Gauch, Marla Binchetta, Joyce Wessel, and Faustino Flores. We give thanks for their service and dedication. Won’t you consider taking on this important role? If you are interested or have any questions about serving on Council, speak to one of the outgoing members, call or email Colleen Struss, Erik Long, or Pastor Albert. Step up and step out in faith to join the Council!
Altar Servers: All YOUTH and ADULTS of St. Mark’s are invited to assist on Sunday mornings as altar servers (roles such as carry the cross, light the candles, etc.). See pastor for more information and to get scheduled to serve for Sunday services. YOUTH: One does not need to be on a schedule to serve. Simply see Pastor Albert at least 15 minutes prior to the Sunday liturgy.
Call Committee: We are recruiting members to serve on a call committee to fill the role of Associate Pastor. Please see Pastor Albert or Erik Long for more information.
Money Counters: Can you count? Of course you can! Please sign up to be on one of our money-counter teams. Contact Ellie Schwarze for more information.
Altar Guild: One of the most peaceful places to be is in the sanctuary of St. Mark's during hours when worship is not happening. Altar guild members have the blessing of working in the church to help prepare the church for worship the following week. Contact Jim Black for an in-person introduction and tutorial on all that is done in this fulfilling and important ministry.
Food for Others: One of the fabulous community ministries at St. Mark’s is Food for Others. Every Tuesday, a team of volunteers organizes donated food to give away to families in need. Contact Nan Ackerman or Debbie Brown to volunteer. We need team members and alternates!
Thank you for considering these volunteer opportunities—these provide a way to live out our faith in our community of faith and serve our neighbors. Bless you for stepping up to volunteer!
